The revised cover to Issue 1 of The Crime Bible: The Five Books of Blood.

Came out pretty well, I must say.

Sorry you’re not feeling well, hope you get better soon.

On the plus side, thank you for the preview–that is one bitching cover!

Speedy recovery to you…and I think you’re right about that cover art.

Damnit, this is what happens when I’m sick and post a comment: I give one of my fave comic book writers the flu. =p

That is one damn fine cover, but it feels like Montoya’s missing the fedora. Could be the shadows, though.

Honestly, I’m going to wait until the whole mini-series is completed and snag the trade, instead. But when IS released, I’ll be snagging it up quick and gorging myself on it.

Also, you had made mention of a Whiteout III. I just recently found a copy of Melt for the first time and loved it. Is there anything you can tell us about the upcoming el numero three?

Oh, I really, really dig the pulp vibe! I absolutely love the coloring. Warm palettes of arcane criminality for the win!

(Can you tell I just spent an hour looking at all the Doc Savage reprints my LCS just got into stock?)

    Feel better!

Can’t wait to read this one. I miss 52!

    Looks good. :D

That is precisely what we’re going for. The covers for 4 and 5 in particular, I think, knock it out of the park.

Much as I’d like to lay blame for this bug outside of my home, I have to place it squarely where it belongs…

…on the wee shoulders of my four year old daughter.

Amazing how her little sniffle can fell her mother and me.

And there’s no fedora on the cover, sorry. For that, you have to actually, y’know, open the comic. :D

On an unrelated note, it looks like Warner Bros has a new policy: http://www.deadlinehollywooddaily.com/warners-robinoff-gets-in-catfight-with-girls/

Because having a female lead is the ONLY POSSIBLE EXPLANATION for why their movies have flopped.

So much for Wonder Woman. Or, you know, my sanity.

    It’s the last story.

    Anything else would be telling.

  12. thatnickguy

Mind you, if they’re basing that theory from Catwoman, who can blame them?

  13. admin

Sanity, I am reliably informed, is overrated.

Interesting. Whitout isn’t technically a WB movie, I suppose, as it’s been made under Joel Silver’s Dark Castle company, but it’ll be distributed by WB, and Silver’s deal is with WB.

    We’ll see.

Speaking as the mom of a four year old, I can say with certainty that they are harbingers of every plague ever known to mankind. My child is of course the picture of innocence, which makes it that much worse.

Keep in mind that Nikki Finke is a gossip columnist of larger than average proportion. Thus, her facts must be taken with a truckload of salt, rather than a grain.

Then again, it’s pretty common knowledge that women-led films generally don’t sell all that well, and when they are made, they don’t do well either. There’s no one person to blame for this; Hollywood tends to be very male dominated, from the writers to the directors to the producers.

Yes – no mention of Countdown on the cover! That alone guarantees it’ll be better than at least half of DC’s current output (hey, given that Renee “appeared” several issues back in Countdown, you never know what DC marketing might pull).

I like the 52 logo, but I’m not sure it meshes well with the rest of the cover.

    Fucking ay!

I thought Matt Clark(e) was on art? Rotating artists?

  18. jjgalahad

    Wow.

That is, pardon my French, a beautiful fucking cover. I’ve never seen the whole “Negative Space” aspect of the Question’s lack of face seem so striking. If this was ever released poster-sized and minus text, I’d pick it up immediately.
